Membership Information
Advocacy Member
Advocacy membership is the highest level and includes WPTF’s board and voting members. These companies hold seats on the Board of Directors, participate in governance, and have formal voting rights on association matters. Board companies are active leaders in Western power markets and help set WPTF’s strategic direction and advocacy priorities.
General Member
General membership is the standard category for the majority of WPTF’s member companies. It is open to a broad range of market participants—including competitive suppliers, generators, power marketers, electric service providers, renewable developers, financial institutions, and other entities doing business in the Western Interconnection—who wish to engage in information sharing, committee work, advocacy, and networking without holding board or voting positions.
Public Agency Member
Public Agency membership is designated for public utilities, municipal power agencies, and other public-sector entities. This category recognizes the distinct role of publicly owned utilities and agencies in Western electricity markets and provides a tailored membership option for these organizations.
